FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies mAb GMP Facility Animation

Fujifilm Diosynth is a world leading Current Good Manufacturing Practice Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) supporting partners in the biopharmaceutical industry with the development and production of their biologic, vaccines and advanced therapies.

Our role:

Fujifilm Diosynth’s global marketing team in Research Triangle Park, N.C. contacted preVision 3D to create a 3D walk-through video to introduce its new Saturn Facility to the BioPharmaceutical industry. The prototype is located in College Station, TX.

The preVision 3D team was charged with the task of taking all available digital resources for the structure and equipment and creating a presentation to introduce the facility.

The completed video was ultimately shown at conferences, embedded on the Fujifilm Diosynth website, used in digital marketing campaigns, and shown to existing and potential customers world-wide.

preVision 3D acquired available 3D CAD files of the structure containing architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural information. These were in separate files set to different geolocations.  Some reconciliation was necessary.  A lot of the information provided is not necessary for 3D rendered animations, so this required sorting through the files and culling unnecessary information.  Not all of the architectural details were available at the time of production, so missing elements were identified, created and added to the model using CAD and 3D modeling software.

Some of the equipment used in the Saturn process was available from the equipment manufacturer. In all cases, these were high-resolution wireframes and the complexity had to be reduced by the prevision 3D team to optimize utilization and rendering time. Several items on the equipment list were not available and were made in-house following illustrated plans.

Once the elements of the model were assembled, snapshots were made of each of the intended locations and sent to the client for review.

Next, camera timelines were placed in the modeling program and hidden-line animations were rendered to show the contents of each segment in real time. Hidden-line animations render in a fraction of the time required for photorealistic renderings.

Adjustments to the timelines were made and the scenes re-rendered until the segments were approved for production.

The segments were sent to the renderfarm and processed over a period of several days. Each frame was processed with post-render effects and the completed segments were sent for inclusion in the editing process.

In the meantime, 2D graphics provided by the client were prepared for motion effects.

A script was sent to the voice-over artist and music selected and purchased. The voice-over track and music were added to make the completed video.
